Since I was 18 years old, 45 years ago, I have never purchased a pistol or rifle scope that wasn't a Leupold. And to be honest, I only considered this one because of a phone conversation I had with a Leupold rep when I needed some service work done through their custom shop. I was informed that their custom shop was shut down. Pi ed at the results of the conversation I had I got on line and did some intelligence gathering. In the end, I bought the NightForce 15 55x52mm with the FCR 1 reticle. I don't know why, but I had a devil of a time getting it mounted on my Daniel Defense Delta V Pro 26" 6mm Creedmoor such that crosshairs were exactly vertical not NightForce's problem, I'm just really OCD about having absolute vertical crosshairs. I took it to the range and did some preliminary zeroing in (very little was required, actually). I'm a top competitor in the new Olympic sport of gumfly shooting. Never heard of it, that's a shame. Here are the rules: You take a piece of really nasty kid's bubblegum and stick it to a backstop at any given range. The flies and wasps love the smell of the nasty gum and swarm to investigate. As soon as one lands, you have a few seconds to aim and fire. Objective, insect control. This scope, coupled with the DD DvPro 6mm is a wicked ass rifle. I literally can hit insects as 100m all day long, and better than 75% at 200m. Don't know if I'm over my family's tradition of Leupold's, but one thing is for sure... NightForce has some seriously good optics. And true to form, the optics come very close to the cost of the rifle. That too is a tradition (lol lol lol). VR JW
